Sand Mountain Herbs FAQ

How long have you been in business?
Since around November 2001

Where do your herb seeds come from?
We gather quite a few (30-40%) from the Sand Mountain, Alabama area in places that we have marked for seed gathering as well as growing many of the plants ourselves. The rest are bought from a variety of sources on the open seed market.

Can you provide roots, leaves, and other parts of the plant?

We are planning to sell native Sand Mountain herb roots in the fall of 2003, probably Oct-Nov, to ensure the roots do not get hot in shipment.  We plan to sell Black Cohosh, Yellow Root, Mint, Kudzu, Solomon Seal, and others.

When is the best time of the year to plant most herb seeds?
Early spring or late fall, but all seed vary in time of planting.
