Sand Mountain in Northeast Alabama

Sand
Mountain is one of the southernmost mountains on the southern tip of the Smokey
Mountains. It is primarily in DeKalb & Marshall Counties of Northeast
Alabama and runs parallel to Lookout Mountain from the Chattanooga area.
Sand Mountain is home to a wide variety of natural habitats in which you can
find many temperate forest, open field, and even a few wetland ecosystems (not
much though). With beautiful scenery (Such as High Falls Park in
Geraldine, AL) and good people, Sand Mountain was once touted (I am not sure if
this still true) as the most highly populated rural area in the United States.
You can see why once you visit. Many seeds from Sand Mountain Herbs are
gathered from the ecosystems of this beautiful place to live. See a few
