Sand Mountain Herbs was founded by outdoor enthusiast and native plant expert Larry W. Chandler of Geraldine, Alabama. He has vast knowledge of the medical values of herb plants from around the world including North Alabama. Many of the native plant remedies, he has learned from the legendary herb doctor of shinbone ridge in Leesburg, Alabama, the late Tommy Bass.

Larry's passion for herbs is obvious as he has has done everything from lecturing a class at Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, AL to wading swamps for the rare seeds of native Alabamian species. It is our hope that his passion for herbal plants will delight and inform you of natures bounty. So enjoy the site and most of all enjoy the great outdoors!
