Phaseolus
lunatus This is an incredibly prolific Lima bean hailing from the home state
of Sand Mountain Herbs, ALABAMA! (ROLL TIDE!) This lima loves the heat of the southeastern US,
but it can grow anywhere. We are one of the few seed companies in the
world that offers this seed for sale online. It was first offered by Sam
Reid of Hayden, Blount County in 1995 after placing an ad in the "Alabama
Farmers Bulletin." This is one of the most delicious limas you will ever put in
your mouth. It is small and blue to black in color, hence it's name!
Chris, my son, grew this seed in his back yard and the vines were so thick you
could not see through them! Make sure you get strong support to hold up
these vigorous growers! It thrived in the hot Alabama climate and did
very well during drought conditions in our trials. Very rare!
Price: $3.00/pkt
